Vectis Rugby Football Club looks forward to welcoming you for the 2019 Festival.
COUNTY SHOWGROUND NORTHWOOD SUNDAY 28nd April 2019
Registration: Registration will take place at the control tent before 9.30am.
Control tents will be set up for each age group at the side of your pitches. Please check into your control tent as soon as you arrive and we can then give you your registration pack.
Referees: As always, we appreciate the important role that referees play and respectfully request that all spectators give positive encouragement and support their decisions.
In accordance with the County Tournament Rule 12.1, each competing team is required to
PROVIDE A REFEREE for their age group, who MUST be available THROUGHOUT the day.
Referees and Coaches Meet: 9.30am in the main or local control tent.
Referees may check studs on the day, however, it is each clubs responsibility to ensure their
players are appropriately equipped and safe to play. Please can all players check their own boots before the tournament.
Gumshields are recommended at all levels and MUST be worn for all contact rugby (U9 and over).
There will some facility to buy gumshields on site on the day - go to the main control tent.
The closest sports store is in Newport town but won't open until 10am.
Litter: Each squad will be provided with a black refuse bag within the registration pack and we
would be grateful if teams and supporters would use this for all rubbish. Bags can be returned to the control points for disposal at the end of the day.
First Match: 10.00 am prompt.
'Please help us make the day run smoothly by having teams and referees
ready to move onto their pitches at the required time.'
Changing Area: Please note that we have NO changing or clubhouse facilities.
Teams are encouraged to bring their own Shelter/gazebo/tent that can be positioned on the
grounds (well away from the pitches if possible).
Refreshments: Refreshments will be available throughout the day. Hot and cold food along with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available to buy throughout the day.
Please only buy from the above caterers as we have had non-licensed vans turn up and vend from outside the main festival area at previous festivals – the money made from the licensed vendors helps to keep Vectis running through the year. Thank you.
Charity: We are once again pleased to be supported by the local Mountbatten Hospice Charity, they are located in the main control tent. Face-painting and a Tuck shop plan to be available.
Programs and the Raffle: Festival programs will be available for purchase from Age group control tents and the main control tent, all proceeds go to the Charity.
Each program will come with a raffle ticket. A Draw will be held with the winning program getting a nice prize to take home!
First Aid: Please can each team ensure that they have a qualified first aider present when their
team is playing.
A First aid Company will be in attendance on the day in case of a serious injury. However, for all
minor injuries we do ask that each team has a qualified person to deal with the incident.
If you have a child who requires First Aid Attention
- If they can walk – take them to the First Aid Area.
- If they are unable to walk to the First Aid Area please contact your age Control Tent and they will call for assistance.
