Vectis form guard of honour at London Irish v Gloucester

By U9 coach

London Irish had put on a free fun fair to kick things off but everyone was looking forward to the main event.

All the lads who went up had the added bonus of meeting three of the players and putting questions to them followed by a signing session (Below Jamie Leonard issues some swift pen work for four of the U9).

The Vectis team members were then whisked away to perform their duties on the pitch. It was a great event with a good sized crowd and the kids came back to their seats charged up to watch the game which saw the London Irish dominate their opponents Gloucester and win the match 40 - 10.

The club would like to thank the London Irish for a great event - the kids and the parents thoroughly enjoyed it.

Also thanks should go to Ian Margham and Nigel Malkin for getting the transport organised for a quite a few of us who went up - and driving! Cheers guys.

!! Vectis Festival Cancelled !!

By Site Admin

As I’m sure you all now know the Festival has been cancelled. It is the first time in it’s history and lets hope it’s the last. Apologies to all those who turned up and comisserations to all the teams that tried to cross to the island and couldn’t. Volunteers roughed the atrocious weather to set up the event but all teams and coaches felt that conditions were impossible for children to compete and enjoy what is usually an excellent days rugby. The club would like to thank all those who made the effort to take part and volunteers who set up and then had to pack it all away.
