At what age can my child begin to play rugby?
The RFU continuum states that children can only play competitive rugby (fixtures/festivals/tournaments) from the age of 6. At Vectis RFC we offer competitive rugby from Under 7s upwards. Children must be in school year 1
Throughout the season we play in fixtures and festivals as detailed in fixtures lists which each age group manager will have.
When do you train?
All ages train and play matches on Sunday mornings between 10:00am and midday. The playing season usually begins the first weekend of September and finishes the last weekend of April/first weekend of May.
Where do you train?
We train at 3 venues
U7 – u12 are at IWRFC, Wootton Rec.
U13 & u14 are at Ventnor RFC, Whatcombe Bottom
U 15 & U16 are at Sandown & Shanklin RFC in Lake and may have additional training one weekday evening at the discretion of the coach.
The Colts move across all three.

Can Girls Play Rugby?
Absolutely! Girls train and play alongside the boys all the way through Mini/Midi rugby until they reach Year 7 and then they can join Vectis RFC’s Girl’s rugby teams;
