We're very sorry that overnight and continuing bad weather this morning caused the last minute cancellation. We will try and get an inspection + notice out earlier next time if you were inconvenienced today and got all the way over there before getting the message. We're very sorry about that and won't leave it so long next time to check the pitches/conditions.
If any of you didn't get a message at all, can I remind you about a few options you might not be aware of, especially if you're new to the club:
- Make sure you are registered and you have confirmed and checked your email address on the club website: www.vectisrugby.co.uk (which works perfectly well on mobiles, tablets and desktops).
- The registration system allows us to send emergency messages at the last minute - if required - and these message will get pushed straight through to the Apple and Andriod Club apps - that are available from the website or direct from https://www.pitchero.com/club-app if you are already registered on the website www.vectisrugby.co.uk
- Do call me directly if you have any problems getting registered or using the club apps.
With this week cancelled we've missed one of the weekends needed for the new players to get used their new club/buddies and register to play in matches. With the next match finally now coming up in just two weeks time we'll need to get the registrations + annual subs (£30 for a half season) in by next Sunday - so that we can obtain your child's first official RFU number so they can play in competitive games (the Sunday following, Feb 4th). The two applications needed for this are attached if you could complete these and return them to me by email (scan or a good phone pic are fine). We will also need two passport size pics to send on the RFU (which you could bring on Sunday).
For all existing players/parents...
Thanks again for supporting the club and what we're trying to do especially if you managed to get a buddy or two along last week. I hope you saw the Country Press coverage on this too - which was excellent. Let's hope the weather begins to improve a little going forward with some great fixtures/trips coming up in February and March with our own end-of season rugby festival finale (with teams coming over from all over the UK) to end the season with a bang on Sunday April 22nd in Seaclose Park! So plenty to play and train for going forward.
Do call Colin Hiom any time with any queries and do keep spreading the word/bring any new players along to try out the club - and see you next week.
