Glorious victories from the U10s

In glorious sunshine at the Havant Festival 2018
The U10s put on an absolutely riveting display of attacking rugby and attacking defensive work on Sunday - having turned round the defensive frailties the team had shown at the previous festival (only 3 weeks ago at The Trojans RFC) to such an extent that the coaches and parents were going nuts on the touchline and opposition coaches politely applauding some of the best attacking rugby and crunching turnovers that the team has ever played.
Special thanks to all parents for ensuring we had just about the strongest squad we could possibly have taken this week and for getting our heroic young players to the training grounds over the last few weeks and since the last festival. We even squeezed in a celebratory pint in the lovely Havant bar/stadium overlooking their even-more impressive artificial surface of Havant's new 1st team pitch where the U12s were putting on a good and brave show for us after our games.
Golden Boot winner this week was almost impossible decide although we did say beforehand that the boot would go to the most-improved player over since the Trojans festival and this, against stiff competition from Billy E, Freddie H, Jack J and quite honestly every single player in the squad; was Elliot O! Well played everybody but especially Elliot for really getting stuck into the tackles, rucks and turnovers. Silver medal winner this week was George C for his great attack and support play, his excellent marshalling of the team from full back (as captain) and his crunching tackles setting the standard in defence and coming across the field with his text-book cover tackles too. On the front foot, where the U10s want to play all their rugby (in defence and attack) Billy, Freddie, Jack, Coben, Clyde, Alex (with some of the best crunching tackles and rips the team has ever seen), Tyler, Nye and "Reggie" Reg were also fantastic.
Teams put to the sword (and convincingly) by the under 10s on Sunday included Havant, Gosford and New Milton followed but a tight draw against Romsey where the boys had to play straight after their epic win against New Milton.
As a special reward this week the U10s will be celebrating in the clubhouse with a secret treat! Thanks again to all the parents, coaches, players and supporters + the players/parents who missed on this tournament. We'll tell you all about it on Sunday and reveal the new club fixtures that have been confirmed for December (including a Christmas Special on Dec 16th) as well as in January and February.
See you all on Sunday.
